Instant Pot Jeera Rice | Indian Cumin Rice

 

Jeera Rice is a more festive version of plain white rice. Its easy to make yet it looks festive and has the appearance of a special dish and the cumin seeds aid in digestion. Ideal for when you need to make an indian ‘dish’ in a hurry. Goes well with curries from Indian , Chinese, African and Thai cuisines.

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice, 2 cups, washed (http://amzn.to/2DyDzKH)

Jeera/Cumin Seeds, 1tbsp

Green Chillies, 3 , chopped (skip this if you dont want it to be spicy)

Mint Leaves, 1 bunch

Oil, 2 tbsp

Directions:

1.Turn on Saute Mode and add the oil.

2 Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds, green chillies, mint leaves and rice.

3 For 2 cups of rice, add 3 cups of water. Give it a stir.

4 Close the lid, turn on Manual mode, and set the timer to 8 minutes.Make sure the whistle is in Sealing Mode.

5 Do a Quick Release, wait for the safety valve to drop and open the lid carefully.

Serve Hot!

Serves 3 Adults.
